Random

This week was pretty uneventful. Well, I did host 2 parties in the last week. Last Saturday night we had our friends that we meet up with monthly come over for dinner. We rotate who hosts the get together and it was my turn. I haven't had it in our actual home for several turns. Friends are truly a blessing. Then Thursday I hosted a training meeting for foster parents here at the house. It was a really good training with a good turn out.

The kids are good. Shelbee is really starting to enjoy reading more. She stays up late most nights sneaking some reading in. I am glad she if finally enjoying reading. Dawson is anxious to start up baseball again. He doesn't have another tournament until January. Aubree is still keeping us laughing and screaming. :-) She is full of it that child. She is adjusting well to her new glasses. No headaches since she got them, so YAY for that! Andy is having fun going to the babysitter a few times a week while I go to work. He has fun with the other kids. He is such a cuddler and lover. Each day I am so grateful for each of my children. They are truly amazing.

Business is good. Garbage has slowed down a bit from the lack of construction in our area. The other businesses are still doing well thank goodness. Matt is nervous about the economy so he is planning for the future more now than ever. I am glad he can plan ahead like that.

Thanksgiving is coming up this week. My mom is hosting it this year. It should be pretty mellow. I am getting off easy this year for food assignments. I offered to bring more but it just worked out that way. YAY for me. :-)

Happy Turkey Day everyone.

Nashville, Tennessee 2008 CMA Awards

Okay. So we had SO much fun in Nashville at the CMA awards. We purchased tickets (that were donated by a radio station) at a charity auction last spring to go to the CMA awards. We had no idea what we were purchasing at the time. We ended up being about 10 rows from the tippy tippy top. lol On TV it really fools you. You think they are in a nice theater but nope....it's a basketball type arena. We were very surprised being that everyone is VERY dressed up. It was fine and we LOVED it! Wish we would have brought our banoculars!! ;-P Thank goodness for the jumbo tron. I took some pictures anyway and my camera is not the best zoomer.

It was very neat to be there in person. You realize that all of these people are just normal everyday human beings just like us. Sitting in a basketball arena together. You cannot really tell who the people are in the pictures, but I labeled them. I only posted a few of the pictures from the show.

Our very favortie part of the trip was AFTER the CMA awards were over. We went to the Wildhorse Saloon to watch the up and coming band The LoCash Cowboys perform. They were fantastic! I highly recommend catching them in concert if they come your way. They are country/rock......right up Matt and I's alley. We stayed at the bar until 2 a.m. watching them and drinking our cokes! lol Matt got a picture with the lead singer.

We stayed in a very nice room in downtown Nashville. I could definitely visit Nashville again. I think I am a southern country girl at heart. We walked past the famous "Tootsies" where lots of famous people were/are discovered, on Broadway downtown Nashville. It was too crowded for us to even go inside. It was great to get a way and just have a good old fashion good time with bunch of rednecks! Enjoy the pix :-) and thanks for visiting my blog!

Thank Goodness for the jumbo tron! lol

Dawson in action

Waiting for that fly ball

Posing with a baseball witch in Gardener Village, SLC

Look at those freshly washed white pants! All dirty!! lolRunning into 3rd And he SLIDES

And he makes it!

I want to show off Dawson in all his glory. He has been participating in a baseball tournament league for the past few months. We have traveled all around Utah playing in tournaments. He is really passionate about it and so fun to watch. He plays center field or 3rd base. His specialty is batting and throwing. He is working his way up to pitching.

I love and dread Sundays

I love Sundays because we are all home as a family all day. I dread Sundays because we are all home as a family all day! LOL The house is such a disaster on Sunday nights. But, we have fun too. We always usually eat a big dinner together after church. Everyone helps clean up then we all head off to rest or do our own individual thing. Matt, Andy and I always head off for a Sunday afternoon nap. That is probably where the mess comes in LOL. The big kids have their way with the house. It's a good day. Rest is so nice. Wish I could do it everyday ;-) Sunday nights we usually watch a movie together or go visit some friends or family. Tonight we will probably head to my brothers for a visit. Monday is clean the house up day for me. But, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else doing anything else! I have the best kids in the world!!
